From Business Plans at Age 10 to the Boardroom

I’ve always been a builder.

I started writing business plans when I was 10 years old—sketching ideas, imagining how they could work, and figuring out how to make them better. That curiosity followed me through school and eventually led me to Washington, D.C., where I presented a business plan at a national leadership summit as a high school senior.

That early love of business became a career. After earning my CPA and later my MBA, I spent five years working at large, high-profile accounting firms. I learned how complex systems work, how businesses scale, and how strategy on paper impacts real outcomes.

But something was missing.

Most of my work happened behind a screen, serving clients I never met in person. And over time, I realized I didn’t just want to manage spreadsheets—I wanted to build something tangible, something that improved daily life for the people around me.

The Turning Point: Parenting in the Southern Tier

Everything clicked after I had my two children.

As a parent in Vestal, NY, I saw a clear gap in our community: families needed more safe, clean, and intentional indoor play spaces. Most places were designed for kids or for adults—but very few truly respected both.

I wanted a space where children could explore, socialize, and play freely, while parents could enjoy a moment of calm without feeling rushed, stressed, or out of place. A true community hub—not chaos, not guilt, not an afterthought.

That vision became Happy Days Play Café.
